I love helping world-class companies innovate and prosper through design. My approach is rooted in activities that are organic to human practices, patterns of emotion, imperfection, observation and story design.
My career began at NeXT and Apple, where I gained deep multidisciplinary design training in cognitive psychology, product design and color theory. Working with and influenced by Steve Jobs in the 90’s has shaped my design practice today.
I went on to design products and brands for Macromedia, Adobe, Sun Microsystems, Stanford University, Microsoft, Vonage, Visa, UPC TV Europe, eBay, HP, Saatchi & Saatchi, Link TV, Cengage Learning and McKesson Pharmaceutical and more. Recent engagements include: Oncology Analytics, Bill.com, Daré Corporation.
I believe design thinking and creative intelligence can powerfully help organizations figure out who they ‘really’ are and communicate authentically and vertically in a horizontal world. I leverage my training in visual art, creative writing, and behavioral psychology to help turn customers into community members of the corporate brand.
I enjoy book design and writing and have a side project of foodie gift books. The first one recently was shelved in 5 Whole Foods stores in San Francisco. I have written several creativity articles on brainstorming, creative process and color. One of my articles on interactive was published in Communication Arts Magazine.
Education: BA in psychology from UCSC, an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a screenwriting certificate from UCLA Theatre, Film and Television.
